Jacksonville Magic Basketball

Welcome to the Jacksonville Magic! 

The Jacksonville Magic mission is to create a positive atmosphere, where young athletes can become better basketball players. Magic Basketball is the vehicle that provides an opportunity for players to take their game to the next level. We exist to make a positive difference in the lives of our players. Our goal is to develop happy, healthy and confident players. We strive to provide a safe, fun and successful experience for everyone.

Registration: Our registration fee is $500 to participate with the Jacksonville Magic. A discount is applied for each additional sibling registered at checkout. For AAU, the registration deadline will be January 1, 2024. There will not be NO REFUNDS giving after any athletic has been with the organization for 30 days or more. Any type of pandemic like the Covid-19 or any type of issues out of the control of the organization there will be a prorated refund of case by case base for the time each athletic has been in the organization.

We will play at least 6 local tournaments (a minimum of 3 games each) included with registration fee. Fees are due before  January 1, 2024. Fees can be paid either online through the Jacksonville Magic website www.Jacksonvillemagic.org under donations or through the Head Coach via money order, cash or check.

Tournaments: Additional fees apply to travel events outside of the local events sponsor by the Jacksonville Magic. Travel tournaments usually run Friday – Sunday. Those events will be cover by each team and not by the Jacksonville Magic organization. Practice rental is not cover in the registration fee, however the Jacksonville Magic contract a building for each team to practice. Each parent should know up front they are responsible for practice fees.

Playing time: It is our goal to REWARD every child with maximum play time. With that being said, it is up to each player to compete in every practice and game to earn play time. Unlike the local recreational leagues, AAU basketball does not have a “minimum” play rule. Encourage your player to seek maximum potential through continuous workouts/practice when not with the team. One on one Parents to Coaches meeting should be scheduled.

Please understand the team moms and coaches volunteer. They are not compensated. They give their time and resources to mentor the youth in our community as their way of giving back. We thank you in advance for you respectful conduct towards them during the season. If theirs a problem please set a time to address the issue with a coach at an appropriate time. After a game is not a good time too address issues because both sides are emotional.
